
Günther Grollitsch
Günther Grollitsch was born in Klagenfurt (Austria) and trained in contemporary dance in Frankfurt am Main, Rotterdam and New York. He danced with Amanda Miller's Pretty Ugly Dance Company and the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel, among others. After presenting his first own works there, he continued his career as a choreographer, dancer and teacher in Germany. As co-founder of the dance project steptext, he has performed in numerous productions since 1997 and developed his own pieces, often with special attention to spaces and music. He has choreographed at renowned opera houses and received the European Tolerance Award 2009 with the production "Gegen die Wand" at Theater Bremen. Together with Corinna Mindt he is artistic director of tanzbar_bremen and co-founder of the national model project KompeTanz. For and with tanzbar he constantly develops new formats, curating and organizing festivals, such as the biennial international inclusive dance art festival eigenARTig in Bremen. In 2014 she completed the Executive Master in Arts Administration program at the University of Zurich. Until the end of 2015, he worked as a ZAV artist recruiter for dance at the Federal Employment Agency. In collaboration with the Swiss company BewegGrund and tanzbar_bremen, he created the dance theater piece KIPPPUNKT, which was presented at the Dampfzentrale Bern and the Schwankhalle Bremen in 2016. From April 2017 to October 2018 he worked as an application manager for Martinsclub Bremen e.V., since then he supports different institutions in Bremen (Blaue Karawane e.V., Deutsches Tanzfilminstitut, steptext dance project) in this field. In February 2018, he performed as dancer and choreographer in DER EINTÄNZER with octogenarian Gisela Peters-Rhose at the Schwankhalle Bremen.
Since the beginning of the same year, he organizes and curates the festival and guest performance program "eigenARTig - Tanz für Alle" for tanzbar_bremen e.V..
With more than 30 works of his authorship to his credit, since 2019 he has been integrating and co-founding ProdÀrt e.V.
